Required Skills: •University or College Survey, Cartography or GIS education and/or Industry training in similar.
•Possess current offshore medical and survival in-date certification.
•Previous experience of offshore survey processing projects involving processing of surface and subsea positioning data, construction survey data and ROV based survey data..
•Fully conversant with industry standards relating to health, safety and the environment.
Duties: This position is based in Aberdeen, UK
Responsibilities:
•Assist with the installation of survey equipment and software systems.
•Assist with the conduct of calibrations of gyrocompass and pitch/roll sensors for both the survey vessel and the ROV.
•Assist with the conduct of health checks of the DGPS systems.
•Assist with the conduct of observations of seawater parameters in order to determine the speed of sound in seawater.
•Installation ad configuration of data processing systems and hardware.
•Networking of data processing systems to online system, printers, plotter and data archiving systems.
•Implementation of project geodetic parameters in processing and charting routines.
•Verification of project databases and creation of structure files for use online.
•Prediction of tidal levels using a combination of harmonic constituents and co-tidal data.
•Import or raw survey data from online into processing system.
•Implementation of vessel and ROV offsets in processing.
•Planning of processing flows.
•Processing of data from all survey sensors, both from the ROV and from the vessel, e.g. vessel track based on DGPS, ROV track based on DGPS/USBL/Doppler, dual-head scanning profilers, multi-beam echo sounders, bathy systems, pipe-tracker, events as recorded online, (digital) video review.
•Integration and interpolation of survey data by time and by KP.
•Review data sets and highlight problems with a given data set and relate those problems to online acquisition techniques where relevant.
•Production of digital listings of seabed or pipeline status in relation to the seabed plus events.
•Production of industry standard data formats such as UKOOA P5/P6.
•Production of Pipeline alignment charts showing plan view, longitudinal profile, cross profiles, pipeline embedment and event panels.
•Management of raw and processed data, together with chart revisions.
•Safe back-up and archiving of all project survey data.
•Act as the data processing team leader as required in the absence of the Party Chief.
•Perform Risk Assessments and tool box talks in the course of day-to-day activities as and when required by the Party Chief or Superintendent.
•Develop an awareness of the relevant commercial and contractual issues of each project as defined ini such documents as Scope of Work and Tender documents.
•Display proficiency and general computer literacy with Microsoft products, e.g. Word and Excel, email and Windows operating systems.
•Ensure that all personnel under own supervision follow the QHSE guidelines and requirements as defined in project specific plan or as required by the Vessel Operations Manual.
•Attend training courses as required as part of the ongoing development of individual and Company capability.
• Adhere to Company safety, health and environmental procedures and policies.
• Participate positively in safety meetings, project risk assessments and tool box talks.
• Recognise risks and develop mitigation to reduce risk to an acceptable level where possible.
• Operate with the vessel permit to work system when required.
• Ensure that all personnel under own supervision follow the QHSE guidelines and requirements as defined in project specific plan or as required by the Vessel Operations Manual.
• Conduct all activities within the Integrated Management System Policy, Procedures and Work Instructions.
