Name - give your full name

Personal Details - give your date of birth and nationality

Contact Details - give your full address, phone and fax number and email address

Education and Qualifications - list each establishment by name, and the dates between which you attended each one. Add any professional qualifications

Certification - list any certificates or licences that may be pertinent to your application, such as Offshore Safety and Medical training, passport or licences to use specific equipment

Profile - this is your chance to sell yourself, so detail the areas that you specialise in, for example metrology operations and precision dimensional control experience, making sure you’ve mentioned all your strengths

Career Summary - list jobs in reverse chronological order and include details such as the company you were employed by, your position and the dates between which you worked at each

Career Details - Provide as many details as possible about the last two years of your work history, including the specific types of employment you undertook and any particular achievement. Projects worked on before this period should be covered more briefly. Add any computer packages at which you are proficient and any training completed

Languages - list all the languages that you can speak, detailing your level of proficiency in each one

Visas - detail valid visas you hold for any countries

Do's and Don'ts:

Don’t leave any unexplained gaps – employers may assume you have something to hide

Do include more detailed information to cover the last ten years; summarise the period prior to this, mentioning only relevant details
