Peter Thompson - Party Chief

Working with GOSS allows you to shape your career and get to where you want to be.

After spending a few years after university travelling and pursuing other interests I found myself looking to get into the offshore industry back in 2005. From not having much to go on i came across the GOSS website and decided along with a few  other numbers to try my luck and give them a call, which was promptly answered by non other than Richard Tozer himself....(this was back in the day when he had to answer phones for himself), after explaining my situation to him, he promptly uttered the words that have come shape the last 6 years of my life, 'don't ring anyone else, if I don't have a job for you in 48 hours then you should continue to look'...I promptly rang everyone else on the list as I thought he was mad.

Within a day Richard had called me back and sent me travel details for a job starting the following Monday morning, what can i say...the man is a first class salesman.

Over the course of the next few years I continued to get as much work as I needed and graduated from roles as a junior processor/on-line surveyor to comfortably taking on the responsibilities as a Party Chief, and what really impressed me then (and now) was that even with the little experience I had, every job I went to I wasn't landed in it, nor were the companies I came to work for. This enabled me to raise my skill level gradually and not get into situations where the pressure of not performing could easily turn you away from the industry. 

Now 6 years into the industry I've progressed up in levels of seniority and I'm pretty sure without the guidance of Richard and the excellent people he has working for him it would have taken me a lot longer to reach the level I'm currently at. You do get the feeling that working with GOSS it isn't just about them getting you out and earning a percentage, it is more like they are working for you to allow you to shape your career yourself and get to where you want to be.
